Bluenose Offshore Racing Circuit 2014
BORC 2014 Poster.pdf
Attached to this message is a poster announcing the races for the 2014 Bluenose Offshore Racing Circuit. The organizing committee for this series would greatly appreciate it if this poster could be put up on the notice board at your clubs and maybe sent out to the membership so that potential participants are made aware of the details. It contains the contact information (website, email and phone number) should people desire additional information.
The BORC is a series of coastal races, each at least 100 miles but none more than about 18 hours in duration. The safety requirements, modified Offshore Safety Regulations category 4, make it easy for the average boat to participate while still maintaining standards suitable for overnight coastal races. The series will appeal to those who feel that they or their boats are not yet ready for a race like the Marblehead or St. Pierre or to those that want more long distance racing that a single annual event can provide.
The races are spaced throughout the season with the first prior to the annual bigger offshore event. The series chairman, Dave Stanfield, will be making a presentation at the Halifax International Boat Show offshore seminar on Saturday February 22 at 12:30 pm. If anyone wishes further information or to discuss the series, please contact Dave at firstname.lastname@example.org.
