WHAT WE OFFER
Basic- for those who are new to sailing and require the basics including
sailing a straight line
wind direction
rigging a boat
starting an engine
tacking and gybing
points of sail
emergency procedures
rules of the road
Pleasure Sailor- for those who can sail a straight line, aren’t interested in racing but want to increase their comfort level at the helm
Spinnaker- for those who would like to learn or improve on all aspects of using a spinnaker.
Racing- for those who would like to spend the week learning how to start, maintain boat speed, basic rules, buoy rounding and to practice/ improve their racing skills
Each boat will be composed of 3-5 women who are looking to learn similar skills, with an experienced member from the club to coach. This allows for maximum one on one teaching of the skills, and provides a fun group environment. You can even be taught on your own boat, if that is what you are looking for.
Cost: Members- $80, Non-Members- $145 (Any non-member who wishes to join the club following the course will receive credit towards their membership).
WHAT TO WEAR
Dress in layers. It is always colder on the water than it is on shore so bring along a little extra in a gym bag. Sneakers with non-marking soles or deck shoes are recommended for your feet. If it looks like rain pack some rain gear.
LIFE JACKETS / PFDs
All boats will be equipped with life jackets however if you have your own we suggest you
bring it along.
